• Spring 2018 Key Dates & Deadlines

Listed below are critical dates regarding the University of Utah Spring 2018 LS-SCF: Learning Spaces-Student Computing Fees award process. Three dates are marked with an asterisk to indicate the importance of deadlines (intent to apply, lead contacts, open application period) and the final notification of award funding recommendations to applicants.

 

September 2017

*Sep 8, 2017 (deadline)
INTENT TO APPLY: Potential applicants confirm their intent to apply for the Spring 2018 funding round. 
LEAD CONTACTS: Applicants update their list of lead contacts for the upcoming proposals.

IT PRO MEETING: Presentation about Spring 2018 funding priorities and proposal process.

Dec 6 - 8, 2017
MAKE APPOINTMENTS FOR APPLICANT INTERVIEWS: The Task Force for the Teaching & Learning Portfolio will conduct optional and voluntary interviews with any applicant who feels the need to clarify or enhance a proposal. Even though we will call applicants to schedule interviews in early December, these interviews won't take place until the period of Jan 29 - Feb 9, 2017.

ACCESS PROPOSAL FORM: Provide applicants with the Spring 2018 form for their application and proposal.

*Dec 5, 2017 - Jan 19, 2018 (deadline)
OPEN APPLICATION PERIOD: Applicants have from Dec 5, 2017 until the deadline of Jan 19, 2018 to complete their application and proposals.

 

January 2018

Jan 19, 2018 (deadline)
APPLICATION PERIOD CLOSES:  All proposals must be submitted by 5:00pm, Friday, Jan 19, 2018.

Jan 26, 2018
FINALIZED PROPOSALS AVAILABLE TO VIEW: An applicant's finalized proposal is posted to an individual applicant folder in box.utah.edu. The Teaching & Learning Portfolio, its Task Force, and the specified lead contacts for an applicant are the only ones with access privileges to an individual proposal, attachments, and supporting documents.  Other applicants cannot view another applicant's proposal.

Jan 29 - Feb 6, 2018
APPLICANT INTERVIEWS: The Task Force for the Teaching & Learning Portfolio will conduct optional, completely voluntary interviews with any applicant who feels the need to clarify or enhance a proposal. Interviews were scheduled in early December 2017.

 

February 2018

Feb 27 - Mar 01, 2018
FUNDING DELIBERATIONS: The Teaching & Learning Portfolio convenes for three days to review proposals, supporting documents, and accumulated notes for the applications. Funding recommendations are made.

 

March 2018

Mar 02 - Mar 13, 2018
PREPARE RECOMMENDED FUNDING NOTIFICATIONS: Based on the deliberations of the Teaching & Learning Portfolio, the recommended funding notifications for each applicant are assembled for delivery.

EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS FOR FUNDING RECOMMENDATIONS: Recommended funding notifications are emailed to each applicant.

Mar 15, 2018
UNIVERSITY BUDGET COORDINATION: Recommended funding notifications are forwarded to the University's budgeting office for further processing in the regular budget work for FY2019..

Mar 16 - May 18, 2018
TLT INSTALLATION ESCROW COORDINATION: During the application process, applicants indicated which of their projects and line items were likely to be contracted through Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) for equipment purchase and installation. During the March-April-May time period, TLT coordinates with applicants to confirm A/V needs, cost estimates, and to begin the scheduling of installations for the coming fiscal year.

 

April 2018

Apr 02 - 30, 2018
POST-MORTEM PROCESS EVALUATION: The Teaching & Learning Portfolio will conduct post-mortem discussions about the Spring 2018 LS-SCF awards process. Recommendations for changes in procedures will be forwarded to the University governing body SITC: Strategic Information Technology Committee.

July 2018

AWARDS TRANSFERRED TO APPLICANTS: Beginning in late June and continuing through July 2018, awards are transferred to individual applicants for use in FY2019.
