• New Semester Instructor Checklist for Canvas Classes

Use the following links to get ready with Canvas Classes before a new semester begins:

 Activate your Canvas semester-based course(s).

 Import content from another Canvas course.

 Import specific learning activities and items from another Canvas course.

 Cross-list your courses if needed.  If you see a course containing three digits in CIS, make sure to cross-list that course to the main course.

 Make sure to publish your course when you are ready.

 Request any needed A/V classroom technology.

 Request any needed video services or media conversions.

 Request any needed interactive video conferencing technology.



For proctored exam services, follow the links below for exam set-up if you are teaching a fully online course this semester. Exam dates must cross 2 contiguous days (ex. Monday and Tuesday) to accommodate the growing number of students needing proctored exams.

 Go to your Canvas course to schedule your exams.  (Through the “Schedule Exams” navigation link)

 If your exam is paper-based, email the master document as a PDF or Word document to examinfo@utah.edu

 Provide Exam Services Location | Hours | Policies | Procedures to your students.
