• Portable A/V Equipment Checkout Policies

Because Teaching & Learning Technologies is a campus service department, we are restricted to conducting business and services only related to University of Utah teaching, learning, research, and creative endeavors.  That said, many of our services are completely subsidized for use in academic courses, while other non-course related activities may have charges associated with them.

Most equipment can be delivered directly to a classroom. If preferred, reserved A/V equipment can be picked up from our TLT offices in the Marriott Library Faculty Center, Suite 1705.

An A/V technician can also be scheduled at your request to remain on-site during the entire duration of your event or class. Requires a one-week notice.

For video production services, Teaching & Learning Technologies has a few policies in place to govern when requests must be made.

Teaching & Learning Technologies requires 24 hours advance scheduling for all portable classroom equipment deliveries.  However, we may be able to accommodate same day requests based on the availability of both equipment and staff. We may also ask patrons submitting a same day requests to pick up classroom equipment at our will-call desk in the Marriott Library Faculty Center, Suite 1705.

Teaching & Learning Technologies requires one week’s notice for requests needing technician support throughout the event. Event request submissions are due by Friday at noon for events taking place the following week from Monday to Sunday.

Teaching & Learning Technologies reserves the right to charge up to the full value of a job order for no-shows and for cancellations taking place less than 48 hours before the start time of a scheduled event.  No-show and cancellation fees cover total work time leading up to the no-show or cancellation.

Instructors and students must pick up orders consisting of just cables (VGA, Mac Adapters, RCA, etc.) at the Marriott Library Faculty Center, Suite 1705.  Teaching & Learning Technologies delivers cables only if they are included in a larger order consisting of other equipment.

Instructors are welcome to checkout VGA and audio cables for a semester at a time.  Teaching & Learning Technologies now allows semester checkouts for Mac adapters while supplies last.

Small equipment items (such as microphones, audio recorders, camcorders, etc.) cannot be delivered to classrooms.  These items must be picked up at the will-call desk in MLIB 1705 or delivered to an office location where the requester or office representative can sign for them.

Requests for A/V Equipment are due by Friday at noon for events taking place the following week from Monday to Sunday. Use this online form:
